We are delighted to announce a major project grant from the Federal Government’s Visions of Australia program ($160,000), towards  the exhibition and national tour of Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft | Prue Venables. The ADC On Tour exhibition will travel to 13 venues across Australia from 2019 – 2022.

ADC received a Visions of Australia development grant in 2017 for the project. We are thrilled to have the ongoing support of Visions of Australia with this additional funding. The project includes an exhibition, monograph and film, as well as public programs, digital content and an education kit. The project has also been generously supported by the Gordon Darling Foundation.

Acclaimed ceramicist Prue Venables is the ninth artist in the ADC series Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft, showcasing new work by master craftspeople.

Prue Venables' major body of work for this exhibition explores the significance of everyday objects through multiple sequences of forms in porcelain, with additional elements in metal and wood.

Included in many public and private collections worldwide, Prue Venables' works explore complex and unusual approaches to working with porcelain, challenge the significance of daily objects and highlight the richness that they bring to our lives. Forms are deceptively simple, stand quietly, with light dancing on the sprung tension of their rims, their softly melting forms inviting touch.
