Sharon Muir is a Brisbane-based ceramic artist with a bold approach to her craft. Her iconic Harlequin and Mano Hands series feature dramatic black and white glazes applied to crisply formed terracotta vessels. The artist's hand is clearly seen in her pod vases and bowls, which are painstakingly hand-carved with hundreds of tiny dots.

Sharon grew up in Victoria and completed a BFA and Master of Arts at RMIT in Melbourne, before later relocating to Queensland. She has also travelled widely in Asia, Europe and the USA in support of her creative projects, and historical influences are clearly visible in the intricate patterns of her ceramic pieces.
