"This work is a response to my observations in nature and the tendency to valorise that which is considered aesthetically beautiful and perfect over that which is not. But for me, it is the imperfections that draw my eye again and again. Hence the title Cracked Flowers - nature which catches the eye but each petal has an imperfection when observed closely."

Based in NSW, Clare Hooper migrated to Australia as a child. In her practice, she is currently looking to explore her family history and relationships with inherited objects
