Every road has a bump, a hump, a little lump and these are the bumps that shape us. A Bump in Every Road is an ode to the challenges and lessons Kelly and her four children navigated on their bumpy road of loss, charity and resilience following the devastation of their home in the February 2022 floods. Whilst weaving, this piece served as a vessel for processing the thoughts, emotions and experiences of each unique bump in the road.

Kelly Evans is an emerging fibre and textile artist transitioning from a private, restorative practice to an outcome-based model of artistic expression. Sustainability forms the foundation of all of her work. As an educator and facilitator, Kelly is passionate about empowering others to benefit from their own creativity and in addition to teaching fibre arts techniques works as an academic literacy and learning coach. She lives in the Northern Rivers with her four children.
