Maker Profiles: Jeff McCann

As part of Jeff McCann’s Play now on in William Street Window Gallery, ADC’s Communications Producer Laura Wesolowski asked Jeff three quick-fire questions to find out what inspires him as a designer maker.
What do you make?
My practice straddles art, design, craft & fashion. So it ranges from jewellery & wearables through to art objects and homewares.
Why do you make what you make?
I love a design brief and make things. Working primarily with cardboard means I'm always having to think of new ways to experiment. So I like to embrace play in the making process and try to create work that makes people want to step closer and be curious.

What inspires you?
My younger self is my muse. I like making work that would inspire Younger Jeff to believe he could be an artist when grows up. And I also like to explore themes of world building, games and the natural world.
Thanks Jeff!
