Dr. Gene Sherman AM

After re-imagining Sherman Galleries, one of Sydney’s most prestigious commercial art galleries, Dr. Gene Sherman reopened the space in 2008 as the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation.

This philanthropic organisation is dedicated to the public exhibition of significant contemporary art from Australia, the Asia Pacific region, and the Middle East. A true advocate for the arts, Dr. Sherman is currently Adjunct Professor at UNSW Art & Design, and Deputy Chair of the National Portrait Gallery Board, and along with her philanthropic pursuits, she regularly mentors and lectures to universities, museums, and collectors.
