Architect, and one of three directors of Healthabitat, Paul Pholeros’ work within Healthabitat has helped improve the living environments of Indigenous people in many suburban and rural areas.

With the organisation, Pholeros has improved over 8,000 houses nationally, as well as employed a majority of local Indigenous people on all project teams. With similar work now spreading to New Zealand, Nepal, Bangladesh and South Africa, the Australian Design Centre recognises Pholeros’ significant impact in using strategic design solutions to improve living conditions and reduce health impacts associated with poverty and poor housing.
