About the Works
Flock I, 2023
feathers from chickens I loved, found silage netting
$1,380
Flock II, 2023
willow, found silage wrap, paint
$1,380
My chooks keep me company while I work, their sounds are always comforting. When I have the door open they pop in and out of my studio, sometimes even laying an egg.
Last year I lost ten of my chooks to a fox and nursed another injured four in my studio. Through making I process materials with my hands, but I’m also processing grief. These works are for my chooks, and for my beloved rooster Old Mate, who fought so hard to protect the flock.
