Sacha Coles
Sacha Coles
Sacha Coles is a Sydney based landscape architect. Sacha conceptualised his isolation life into monochrome sketches and turned the process into a meditation. The journal is a visual experiment with lineage and reconstructed landscape scenery.
“Creative anarchy – embracing the change of COVID-19.”
We asked Sacha three questions about his experience of isolation, completing this journal and his hope for the future. These are his responses:
Describe the experience of the period of isolation for you.
Isolation has brought me closer to family + given me permission to restructure my time, my commitments, + my work to a new system which better suits my natural rhythms.
What does your book represent and how did you approach the challenge?
This book is a reminder that drawing is a meditation.
What do you hope will change in Australia as a result of the pandemic?
My hope is that as a society we give permission to adopting new alternative models of “work” and that we promote a wholistic-health-centred approach (human + environmental) over the “growth at all costs” linear economic models of the past.
