Vipoo Srivilasa
Melbourne ceramicist, curator and arts activist Vipoo Srivilasa filled his journal with working sketches and to do lists. Working on a 30 ink painting challenge when the journal arrived allowed Vipoo to incorporate that challenge.
“ To do 4 June
1. make tea
2. listen to dhamma talk
3. 30 minutes sketch
4. colouring little people (6-8 pieces)
5. work on Copyright grant
6. promote Wellness deity project”
We asked Vipoo three questions about his experience of isolation, completing this journal and his hope for the future. These are his responses:
Describe the experience of the period of isolation for you.
Peaceful but scary/ calm yet cautious/ compassion but also anxiety
What does your book represent and how did you approach the challenge?
I am working on 30 ink painting challenge when the book arrived so i just add the book into my challenge. Also use it to record my to-do list.
What do you hope will change in Australia as a result of the pandemic?
Less environmental issues.
