Tom Skeehan

Skeehan Studio is the design firm headed by founder Tom Skeehan, based in Canberra. It produces commercial furniture, light and product design, adopting a uniquely considered, material-minded process.

Skeehan's designs have the running thread of actively engaging with the environment of a product and considering the long term lived experience of interacting with a design. Whether taking cues from traditional Japanese chair design, the efficiency of an origami fold, or letting the characteristics of the upholstery and other materials dictate the final design, Skeehan’s designs combine simplicity and premium workmanship to make elegantly considered and durable products.
