Gabrielle McGrath
Brutus (in the time of Covid)
“The Brutus mask was created in response to the global pandemic. I drew inspiration from the Roman Helmet and the symbolism the helmet represents; strength, power, courage and loyalty. The helmets, much like our covid safe masks represent our dedication to protecting ourselves and our people. A united front - the masked army.”
Originally trained in sculpture, working in large format and found objects assemblage, Gabrielle McGrath her practice diversified into jewellery, wearable art and small objects when her studio space became limited. Now working from her shop front studio in Bega, NSW, takes commissions and runs occasional workshops.
