The remnants of the maker's marks and exposed seams traditionally are areas usually hidden by the maker. These pieces pay homage to the relationship, between maker and the material by drawing attention to the actual construction of the object. Areas normally overlooked are now a visual path to this relationship.

Marissa Ziesing is an Australian gold and silversmith. She has undertaken residencies and mentorships in Australia, USA and UK, training under renowned gold and silversmiths and has received various grants and awards. Maintaining the lineage of gold and silversmithing is a strong motivation for her practice.
