Pam de Groot
Out of the Ashes
"As the Blue Mountains survived fire and recorded rains in recent years, the pink flannel flower emerged. Sightings are usually rare as they require first a bushfire, and then good rains in the spring. Their seeds can lie dormant for many years, emerging as a breath of hope and beauty after hardship."
After originally working as a studio potter, Pam de Groot has now worked in the field of fibre and textile art for almost 21 years, most recently in sculpture. She pushes the boundaries of what is possible within felt-making, reaching innovations in this field of textiles.
