Pukatja Memory Tiles recall the industrial backdrop to Charlie’s stay in the remote community of Pukatja in the APY Lands, South Australia. Working at Ernabella Arts in

2023, Charlie occupied her days supporting artists working in the art centre and took a pause in her own making. However, she logged many of the textures, materials, compositions and collages that were a part of the warehouses behind the home where she was staying which re-emerged in her ceramic process upon her return to her studio. Bright pops of colour found in the dirt, fencing and chains as remote architecture is the source of inspiration for these groupings.
