Working from plein air records and memory, I draw with and on clay. My interests lie in the power of nature, and the responsibility of humankind in creation and destruction. The elemental aspect of working in the unpredictable world of high fired ceramics is fundamental to my practice.

I started making ‘useable’ tiles 4 years ago to tell a 5m long story. I made a template and began experimenting with methods to keep tiles flat and whole. I love that the landscape here is made of fired earth. The most recent, free-form porcelain treetops, have broken out of tiled geometry.
