Australian Design Centre has a long and distinguished history of showcasing artists across its national and international programs. We know that the projects we produce are critically acclaimed.

With matched funding, from Creative Australia's Plus 1 initiative, we aim to raise $100,000 by 31 May 2025 to support innovation in Australian craft and design practice.

Join us to champion Australian creative innovators by donating to support Australian Design Centre to secure a future for projects like the MAKE Award: Biennial Prize for Innovation in Australian Craft and Design.

Every dollar that you give in support of innovation in craft and design will be doubled.

The MAKE Award showcases disciplines including ceramics, glass, furniture/woodwork, metalwork, textiles and fibre, and contemporary jewellery. Finalists are designer makers with a high level of skill either working with materials that are new to their practice or working in new and innovative ways.

With the support of a generous donor, Australian Design Centre extended its support for the contemporary craft and design community by establishing this national award in 2023. Entries are now open for the 2025 MAKE Award.

Make an impact by supporting the work of Australian Design Centre.

We support the creative community in practical ways, through employment, commissions, exhibitions, retail opportunities and professional development for makers, designers and artists.

We champion designers and craftspeople as creative problem-solvers who can work together to inspire new ideas and find solutions for these challenging and critical times.

We also encourage everyone, no matter what age or skill level, to participate in the act of making, with hands-on workshops for adults and young people.

High-quality exhibitions showcase the incredible dedication, innovation and skill of designer makers and creatives across a broad range of disciplines and materials – ceramics to textiles, metalwork to woodwork, glassware to furniture, printmaking to journaling.
