Blake Griffiths is an artist, curator and facilitator working with a textile focus. Based in Sydney on Gadigal and Wangal land. His practice is informed by a research interest of textile thinking, and particularly the analogy of the warp and weft in weaving as a framework for critique, conversation and understanding interconnections between disparate practices.

This work incorporates an entire Art Almanac magazine cut up and materially re-integrated. Unceasing cultural information becomes rewoven through the contrary faculties of patience, presence and continuity; what is required to undertake such a task. The warp thread creates a fine overlay in a beautiful synthesis of disparate and shifting memes.

Blake Griffiths is Liz Williamson’s nominee for Treasures.
