Hailed internationally as the founder of modern kiln-formed glass, Klaus Moje is not only one of the most influential and iconic figures within the Australian studio glass movement, his significance clearly reaches far beyond. The Moje reputation carries the authority of a 50-year practice that spans three continents and stands testimony to a mastery that resonates with iron-bark integrity. In the 25 years he resided in Australia he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both the development of Australian studio glass and to the promotion of its profile abroad.

Klaus began the Random Square series in 1989 and returned to the theme often until 2015 when he produced the last and final work, a large wall panel, titled Spiel mit dem Quadrat in 2015.

Australian Design Centre’s exhibition Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft – Klaus Moje: Glass toured nationally from 2006 to 2008
