Jeffery Mincham AM

Jeffery Mincham AM (SA) is one of Australia’s most prominent and influential ceramic artists with a career spanning more than 40 years. Jeffery has produced an extensive body of work over that period, which has had a resounding influence on contemporary Australian ceramics.

His work is held in over 100 permanent public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, all Australian state galleries and the premier regional galleries across Australia.

“Inspiration for my work has long been sourced in the landscape and the natural world, with the drift towards greater degrees of abstraction being almost irresistible. Some recent significant developments in my repertoire of glazes and surface treatments, along with my continuing exploration of form has helped this along the way.”

Australian Design Centre’s exhibition Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft – Jeffery Mincham: Ceramics toured nationally from 2009 to 2012.
