Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award

In partnership with the Jewellery and Metalsmiths Group of Australia – NSW Inc., Australian Design Centre presents Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award.
A diverse group of 73 national and international contemporary jewellers and object designers have been shortlisted for exhibition. Their work considers concepts from the personal to topical, crafted across a wide material range from precious gold to plastic waste.

Contemporary Jewellery Conversations
This conversation hosted by contemporary jeweller and academic, Dr Zoe Veness, contemplates key themes that emerge across the Profile exhibition with a panel of Profile artists including Kate Hagan, Erin Pearce and Melinda Young. Following the panel, meet the makers as we walk through the exhibition for a floor talk discussing their works. Joining the panellists for the floor talk will be - Jenny Johnstone, Fiona Meller and Shan Shan Mok.

Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award - Exhibition Tour
Join a guided tour of Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award, Thursdays at 2pm through August and September. This 30-minute tour will take you through the key themes, makers and their works, with the opportunity to meet a maker working at the Profile Jewellers Bench.

Profile Jewellers Bench
Meet local jewellers and object makers working at the jewellers' bench on Thursdays through the exhibition - an opportunity for visitors to chat with them about their processes and craft.

Saturday Craft Club
Our occasional Saturday Craft Club is a new initiative created, especially for kids from 8 to 12 years old. At this workshop you will learn how to create a wearable piece of jewellery using craft materials, recycled, and found objects taking inspiration from the exhibition Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award.
