ADC Achievements

2016 - 2019

“In my experience, ADC is the leading craft and design organisation in Australia. I have found ADC to be a collegiate-minded organisation that seeks the betterment of the sector as a whole.” Kevin Murray, Garland

“Perhaps the most significant achievement of this dynamic, forward facing organisation is the inception in 2017 of Sydney Craft Week, deftly filling a space in the cultural calendar of Sydney. As a maker I cannot begin to express the importance of this event. I wonder what we did before?” Melinda Young, contemporary jeweller

We’re proud of our achievements over the past four years. The infographic below shows some of our key stats and below that are links to some of our standout programs and projects.

It brings the Australian Design Centre’s thinking beyond its four walls – beyond the exhibitions, events and objects – through long-form articles, research papers, online exhibition, webinars and live interviews, as well as conference presentations, lectures, panels, forums, films, audio tours and a writer-in-residence program.

Obsessed: Compelled to make

ADC On Tour 2018 -2021

Obsessed: Compelled to make presents the work of 14 artists from across Australia, delving beyond the finished object, beyond the personality of the maker, into the fundamental conceptual framework of their creations.  We look at the complexities of their materials and processes, the realities of their day-to-day studio routine and unravel what compels each maker to create over the course of their personal career – Why this technique or material? Why that concept? How does the mind of a maker work?
