Origami is the ancient craft of paper folding with its origins in Chinese and Japanese culture. The technique is used by architects, designers and engineers. Contemporary designers are using highly advanced mathematical and computational tools to come up with new models such as anatomically correct insects, Islamic tilings, and geometric designs with curved creases.
In 2022 Australian Design Centre (ADC) will launch a new ADC On Tour exhibition SIXTY: The Journal of Australian Ceramics’ 60th Anniversary 1962–2022 presented in partnership with The Australian Ceramics Association.
This year we called for expressions of interest to exhibit in Australian Design Centre's Object Space window gallery on William Street in Darlinghurst. We were looking for proposals with impact across all forms of craft and design from NSW practitioners.
We are calling for entries from makers, galleries, shops, guilds, libraries, councils and other organisations for exhibitions, workshops and events during and around the Sydney Craft Week Festival period Friday 8 – Sunday 17 October 2021.
