About Canberra Glassworks

Canberra Glassworks is the largest glassmaking facility in the Southern Hemisphere dedicated to studio glass. Built and supported by the ACT Government, its state-of-the-art studios and exhibition space provide a unique experience for art enthusiasts, glass lovers, and curious visitors. Whether an experienced artist, a beginner eager to learn, or someone seeking a distinctive experience, Canberra Glassworks offers something for everyone.

Visitors can watch artists at work from the public viewing platform overlooking the Hotshop, Cold Shop, kiln-forming, and flame-working studios. They can also participate in glassmaking classes, take a guided tour, or join group activities.

Canberra Glassworks hosts an annual artist-in-residence program, supporting artists as they experiment, research, and create new work. It also undertakes special commissions for artists, government bodies, and businesses, crafting custom pieces such as trophies, exhibition works, public artworks, and bespoke wholesale products.
