In the lead up to Christmas, ADC's retail space, Object Shop has taken over the whole lower gallery. Featuring limited edition jewellery, ceramics, textiles, glass and cards, all hand crafted by over 90 leading Australian makers and emerging talent. You will find all your favourite makers in store and a swell of new makers including Emily Besser, Scoops Design, Kate Swinson, Jennifer Newtown and Gillian Hodes - just to name a few!
There is something for everyone here, and beautiful work across a range of affordable price points. We are a great destination for finding a quirky Secret Santa present, finding that special one of a kind statement piece and for uniquely Australian gifts to send to loved ones overseas. We also offer gift wrapping and have a range of handmade Christmas cards too.
Come on by to see how Outer Island and Nicole Robins have decorated our shop window with a distinctly Australian flavour. We are selling Nicole's handmade native garlands, made from local flora, which are a nice, natural, decorative alternative to tinsel. And Outer Island have made a charming display with their Christmas bon-bons and ornaments.

Object Shop Christmas Shopping Night
Join us on Wednesday 5 December from 6-8pm for Object Shop Christmas Shopping Night.
This festive celebration allows you to shop late in store and meet some of our makers and hear about their creative practices first hand. It will make the giving season more special, when you have a story to tell about your purchase!
Stephanie and Amy from Outer Island will be available to personalise (for free!) any Outer Island souvenir decorations purchased on the evening. Get your loved one’s name hand printed on the back of one of their iconic Aussie animal ornament. And Rowan of Little Rowan Redhead will also be joining the festivities too, helping you to decorate your own Christmas cards and paper with handmade stamps.
We will have a free gift-wrapping service so come on by, have a drink and get all your Christmas shopping done early.
Christmas Fare @ Hyde Park Barracks
On Thursday 13 December, 4pm-9pm ADC is partnering with Sydney Living Museums (SLM) for the second year to curate a Makers Lane, with 10 stalls as part of their Christmas Fare event at Hyde Park Barracks Sydney. It is an enchanting evening held at the historic site, with artisanal food, entertainment, 40+ market stalls and free complimentary entry. The ‘Makers Lane’ features Object Shop ceramicists Denise McDonald, Hayden Youlley, Jennifer Newton, Katherine Mahoney and The Fortynine Studio; designers benconservato, Eggpicnic and Outer Island; Jeweller Sophia Emmett and textile maker Love and West.
