ADC On Tour is about supporting creative practice by connecting people with good design, contemporary making, and creative experiences.
Last month at Yarrila Art Museum and Gallery (YAM), I had the pleasure of opening the ADC On Tour exhibition SIXTY with work by 22 excellent ceramic artists to a big crowd of several hundred people. Presented alongside SIXTY were three locally curated exhibitions (ceramics, video and textiles) designed specifically to complement the ADC On Tour exhibition and its firm focus on the handcrafted. An ADC On Tour exhibition is often a catalyst for creating more local platforms for Australian artists.
Like many others our funding from Creative Australia has diminished in recent years. Somehow though, with the consistent support of the Federal Government’s Visions of Australia program, generous private funding and our regional and public gallery partners, for the moment we are able to continue to offer high quality experiences for audiences and national and international platforms for artists.
ADC On Tour is a brilliant program with three exhibitions currently touring: contemporary jewellery, nineteen First Nations and other Australian artists, currently in Munich at Galerie Handwerk during the international festival with people from across the globe connecting with Australian work; SIXTY, with 22 ceramics artists, at YAM and then Canberra Potters; a joyous project re/JOY with Vipoo Srivilasa about stories of migration at JamFactory Seppeltsfield; and later this year we launch for tour the tenth Living Treasures: Master of Australian Craft exhibition with the incredible Helen Britton. This will be followed closely by the richest prize exhibition in our space the MAKE Award: Biennial Prize for Innovation in Australian Craft and Design which is an entirely donor funded program.
Many thanks to the artists who continue to entrust us with their work, our funders, supporters and touring partners and the audiences who take the time to engage with craft and design practice.
Now more than ever we need your support. Every dollar you donate up to $50,000 is matched. Please consider making a donation to our matched funding campaign before 31 May 2025.
