Congratulations to Lilian Hambling, recipient of the 2017 Good Design Awards, ‘Young Australian Design Award of the Year’. The award honours Lilian’s work, e-motion, which integrates fashion and electronics to create a new form of non-verbal communication for men. This wearable technology measures physiological data from the body, expressing it as visual, dynamic displays.

Lilian was selected to participate in the inaugural Designing Bright Futures exhibition in 2016, presented by Australian Design Centre in partnership with UNSW Art & Design. This exhibition recognised eleven of the most outstanding Graduate Designers, chosen for the ways in which their work explores ideas of innovation, sustainability, social impact and the role of design in advancing well-being.
