Last weekend we held a special celebration for many of the artists from across Australia who are represented by Sabbia Gallery. The event was in honour of Sabbia's 20th anniversary.

Sabbia Gallery and Australian Design Centre (ADC) have worked closely together on projects over two decades. Both organisations, located in Sydney and working with artists across the country, share a common goal to nurture and support Australia’s finest artists working in object-based disciplines.

Four artists honoured with a solo exhibition of their work in the ADC On Tour national exhibition program Living Treasures: Master of Australian Craft are or have been represented by Sabbia Gallery. They are eminent glass artists (the late) Klaus Moje AO and Nick Mount and the esteemed ceramic artists (the late) Les Blakebrough AM and Jeffery Mincham AM. Sabbia's artists that ADC has included in recent major exhibition projects include Gabriella Bisetto, Honor Freeman, Greg Daly, Alison Milyika Carroll and Pippin Drysdale. All these artists are exceptional in their mastery of their craft and the elevation of their work to world class exhibition status.

Working directly with Anna Grigson to curate the ADC On Tour exhibition SIXTY: The Journal of Australian Ceramics 60th Anniversary 1962–2022 was a personal highlight for me. Anna very generously gave of her knowledge, expertise and sector commitment to this enormous project which speaks to her ethos of collaborating across the sector finding opportunities for artists beyond commercial representation.

The Sabbia team comprises experienced and knowledgeable staff. It is a joy to me that two current Sabbia team members have worked for ADC at some stage in their careers.

Growing creative careers in the sector should be a priority for us all and so many people who have worked for ADC over our 60-year history have had ongoing relationships with Sabbia Gallery.

Congratulations to Anna Grigson and Sabbia Gallery team on an extraordinary 20 years dedicated to nurturing artists and their creative practice.

We look forward to the next 20 years!
