We are looking for a professional craftsperson to join our Board in 2019. If you are a maker who has had experience on boards or committees and you think you have the time and skills necessary to make a contribution on a professional board we’d love to hear from you!

Natalie Parker is in her fourth year studying Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS. She has been interning with ADC over the past month developing a business plan looking at opportunities to expand ADC's educational programs. 

The Korean Cultural Centre Australia (KCC) are hosting a series of free workshops at the Australian Design Centre in February, providing opportunities for participants to experience old and new Korean craft through hands-on experiences.

ADC is very excited to be partnering once again with Sydney Living Museums to present ‘Makers Lane’, a curated selection of Object Shop makers at their 2018 Christmas Fare on Thursday 13 December at Hyde Park Barracks.

ADC’s Partnerships and Communications Manager, Alix Fiveash recently attended (29 November -2 December) the Sichuan Traditional Crafts and Design Exhibition and Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

In the lead up to Christmas, ADC's retail space, Object Shop has taken over the whole lower gallery and features limited edition jewellery, ceramics, textiles, glass and cards, all hand crafted, by close to 100 leading local makers and emerging talent.

On display in Object Space until 14 November is the exhibition Dorothy Filshie: Fish Out of Water. Fish Out of Water is an exhibition of the textile object work of NSW artist Dorothy Filshie. We spoke to Dorothy to find out more about her inspiration and making process.
